Day 6: I’m ahead for the day

On day 6, I had my a winning day. I didn’t win a ton, but I played a lot and made some of my money back. I mostly laid off of the tournaments for the day because the cash tables were paying off for me. I mostly played the $.10/.25 tables today. As opposed to the $.05/.10 tables, there’s obviously more to win, but there’s also more to lose. The good news is that people give a bet of 4 times the big blind a lot more credibility when it is $1 than when it is $.40.

My First Win

I played one tournament and lost. I was ready to quit for the night. But then I thought (as compulsive people are prone to think) “just one more”. I entered a single table sit n’ go with 9 people for $2 + .25 and won first place for $9.

A Straight Flush – Limping

This hand didn’t hurt, though it was early in the tournament and only won me a little. This is another hand that is hard to imagine getting again. My first straight flush.

Straight Flush

Another Limping Victory

I can’t remember the circumstances around this win. I was feeling loose, so I limped in with a K 8 suited and won:

Trip 8s

Note to other players: this is why you don’t allow people to limp. I would have thrown either of these hands away to any real bet.

More wins at the cash tables again today. Those first 3 days loses were pretty big, but I’m chipping away at them.
