Day 14: Tight? Aggressive?

I’m still losing.  My restraint is excellent.  I’m playing only the best hands.  I’m playing them hard.  Still, it seems that if I get dealt pocket queens, I can count on a flop with an ace and king on it.  Or it has 3 cards to a high straight.  Or it has 3 cards of a single suit.

If that isn’t enough, I lost several hands when I  bet out on the nut flush or nut straight and my opponent draws to a full house on the turn or river.  Sometimes I’d be all in pre-flop and the cards would turn up.  I’d be dominating my opponent with my AK over his KQ and he’d draw the Q or a straight.

At what point does losing indicate bad play?  It seems like losing a lot of money is at least some indication that I’m getting into the wrong pots and/or mixing it up with the wrong people.  It feels like conventional wisdom says that if you can get your opponent to put all his money in the pot against you when you have the best odds, then you’ve done the right thing and in time the money will catch up.  If you aren’t making the right plays, then the money will go out.  Feels like I must be in the latter category.

Should I give up?
