Significant Accomplishment
Admittedly I don’t really play poker for the money. I don’t expect to ever be a pro. I would like to be able to hold my own at a low stakes cash table, but I’m not planning to enter the WSOP any day soon or anything.
I would like to be a very good player and I’d especially like to be a great tournament player. On that front I had picked out a specific tournament to play. On FullTilt I’ve been playing the $3 90-player knockout tournament. It’s $.50 a knockout and the top 9 places get paid, the winner gets $72. I’ve played this tournament around 30 times. I believe that before this weekend I’m probably around even money in this tournament. I’m at the final table all the time. I think I’ve been in 6th place no less than 5 times. Before Friday night the best I’d finished was 4th place. Really, I just want to win. I’d certainly had a few chances to cash better, where I could have folded my way to 3rd or 4th place but played for the win and missed.
On Friday, I finally won! I played an excellent tournament and only had a couple places where I took coin flip chances with a significant portion of my chips. I ended up heads up with a decent player, but, if I may say so, I just played much better. I played an aggressive but disguised game so that all my hands looked the same, but I showed down a few excellent hands and had him running scared.
The other great news is that this big win makes me an overall internet poker winner. My bankroll is bigger than when I first started playing internet poker. I can’t really count on this kind of win to continue because it was hard to get here, but it feels good for now.

Nice one man.
Those $3 KO tourneys are hard to win, with all those weird players pushing with just about any two cards.
Great job!
